The U.S. enters World War I

1. How did the United States raise an army?


The selective servise act was passed which made men sign up to be randomy selcected to join the army.


2. How did U.S. soldiers help win the war?


We strengthed the water-barrier, and sugested the convoy system which made merchants ships safer.


3. What were the estimated economic costs of the war?

The estimated economic costs of the first world war was $338 million.

4. What did the war cost in terms of the number of civilian deaths; military deaths?; injuries?; and refugees


Civilians: 11 million dead.
Military: 11 million as well.
Injuries: 20 million, with 10 million more as refugees.

5. Define armistice.

A truce.
