1. HUAC
This was a committy to investigate communist activities, that influence in the movies industries.
2. Blacklist
A list of persons whom they commend as having a comunnist background.
3. Alger Hiss
Was accused by an former soviet spy for being a spy as well.
4. Ethel and Julius Rosenberg
Were supposed communist spies and were exicuted even after there were pleads to not execute them.
5. Joseph McCarthy
was a failing senator who decided to up his support in the govt by saying communists were trying to take over the govt.
6. McCarthyism
McCarthy used people insecurity to launch unsupported accusations on people he thought were spies, and not only did McC do this but so did other people.
7. In a paragraph, describe the motivations and actions of Joseph McCarthy during the 1950s.
What prompted his actions? What did he do? What happened as a result of his actions?
Causes were that McC was a failing senator who wanted to get his cerear going again so he decided to go on a which hunt of communists in the Govt, and the korean war ended in a stale mante and many communist action going on in the Soveit Union. He used his own tactics of useing peopless insecurity to launch unsupported accusations on people. And contiuned to call names of suspected communists in the senant. MAny people lives wwere ruined because they had to do loyalty pledges and other anti-communist actions. And many people were affraid to speak out against the govermnt now. McC's downfall was when he maid accusations against the millititary and it caused an investigation of McC, who was diso=honered and lost public support from the people.
